From Hobart Airport (HBA)

Hobart Airport is at Cambridge (6 Hinkler Rd); Wikipedia, a secondary source, puts it 17 km north-east of the city centre. There are three practical ways in.

By taxi or rideshare — the simplest

The hotel's own FAQ says taxi or rideshare takes around 20 minutes, depending on traffic; its corporate page says a 25-minute drive. Private transfers can be arranged through the hotel.

Driving route: Hobart Airport (HBA) → Wrest Point

By SkyBus to the city, then bus or taxi

SkyBus's Hobart City Express meets major scheduled flights seven days a week and averages 30 minutes, according to Hobart Airport. Buses leave from outside the arrivals hall forecourt (Gate 1). It stops in the city — including Brooke Street Pier on Franklin Wharf, Elizabeth Street and Campbell Street — but not at Wrest Point, so finish the trip by Metro bus, taxi or on foot (below). No booking is needed; tickets are sold online, in the SkyBus app, at kiosks or by the driver.

Public transport route: Hobart Airport (HBA) → Wrest Point

By hire car

The hotel names Drive Car Hire as its preferred partner, with delivery to the hotel door and pick-up and drop-off at a number of Tasmanian locations. Parking at the hotel is free.

From central Hobart

Metro bus from Hobart Interchange

Metro Tasmania's Sandy Bay to Hobart timetable (effective 3 May 2026) has a timing point called Sandy Bay, Wrest Point. Routes 402, 422, 426, 427, 428 and 429 show times there; route 401 does not. In the published timetable the run between Wrest Point and Hobart Interchange takes roughly 6 to 11 minutes. Check the operator's real-time tracking before you go — timetables change and exclude special-event trips. Metro: 13 22 01.

Bus route: Hobart Interchange → Wrest Point

On foot from Brooke Street Pier (SkyBus stop and MONA ferry)

The waterfront at Brooke Street Pier is where the SkyBus stops and where the MONA ferry leaves. The hotel describes a waterfront stroll of about 25 minutes to Battery Point; the pier is further on in Sullivans Cove, so trust the map's estimate for the full walk.

Walking route: Brooke Street Pier → Wrest Point

On foot from Salamanca Place

Salamanca, home of the Saturday market, is a 5-minute drive according to the hotel, or a walk along the river. Allow more time on a hot or windy day.

Walking route: Salamanca Place → Wrest Point

Red Decker sightseeing bus

Wrest Point is a stop on the hop-on hop-off Red Decker, which the hotel says has 20 stops and a 90-minute city loop. It is a tour, not a commuter service.

Driving route: city centre → Wrest Point

By car from the north

From the Spirit of Tasmania at Devonport

The Spirit of Tasmania carries vehicles between Geelong and Devonport. Wikipedia (secondary) gives the road distance from Devonport to Hobart as 277 km. Parking at Wrest Point is free; valet is $20.

Driving route: Spirit of Tasmania terminal, East Devonport → Wrest Point

From Launceston Airport (LST)

If you fly into Launceston instead, we have not found an official journey time or route description to quote, so we leave the estimate to the map.

Driving route: Launceston Airport (LST) → Wrest Point

By water

Wrest Point has a private pier. The hotel says ferry transfers can be arranged for groups and functions through Navigators Ferry Service. For individual guests, the practical water link is the MONA ferry from Brooke Street Pier, about 30 minutes each way according to MONA.
