This is the only Tower category where the hotel tells you the floors: 1 to 4. That is useful information. You are in the Tower — same lifts, same Health Club downstairs, same restaurants — without paying for height. The outlook is the mountain side, so evenings bring the lights of the city fringe rather than the harbour.
Floors 1 to 4 in practice
Low floors keep you close to the lobby and to the Health Club on the Tower's lower ground floor. They also mean the mountain is seen across the rooftops of Sandy Bay rather than from above them. The 2018–2023 renewal of the property included upgrades to Tower floors one to five, according to a secondary source (Wikipedia, citing ABC reporting) — we mention it because these are not forgotten rooms, but treat it as background, not a promise about any particular room.
Who should take it
- Two adults sharing who want separate beds and do not need the view.
- A parent with a teenager on a city weekend.
- Conference delegates on a budget who still want to be in the main building with the Tasman Room and Plenary Hall a short walk away.
What to ask our desk
If you need two of these side by side or interconnecting, put it in the request. If you would rather trade the single bed for a higher floor, the Deluxe Mountain King starts at the same published rate.
Rates quoted as 'from' prices on the hotel's own room pages when we read them on 29 October 2026. They move with dates, events and season, and the hotel says peak rates apply in summer.
