Wrest Point describes itself as three hotels in one place, aimed at everyone from executive travellers to people watching the budget. In practice that means a choice between height, water and price. The official site lists 271 hotel rooms across the property. A Wikipedia infobox gives 269 and an older third-party listing 259; we use the hotel's own figure.
The three buildings in one paragraph each
The Tower is the round building everyone in Hobart can point to — the hotel calls it Tasmania's tallest. Its rooms are graded 4.5 stars on the hotel's own tiles and split by outlook: harbour side (River Derwent) or mountain side (kunanyi / Mt Wellington and the city fringe). The suites, the accessible rooms and the Health Club are here.
Water Edge sits in the Riviera wing, a short indoor walk from the Tower, behind Lord's Beach. These 4-star rooms are the closest beds to the water on the property, a few steps above the foreshore path.
The Motor Inn is on the mountain side of Sandy Bay Road, linked by an undercover walkway and footbridge. It is graded 3.5 stars and is the cheapest way to sleep at Wrest Point; the hotel calls it a value option.

What every room shares
Check-in is from 2pm and check-out before 11am; early arrival and late departure can be asked for but depend on the day. Parking is free for guests and visitors, Wi-Fi is free across the property, and daily housekeeping is included. Every room has a fridge and tea and coffee things; the Tower rooms add a minibar selection, charged unless a package includes it. Breakfast is only included on some packages — otherwise it is the buffet at Boardwalk Bistro or room service.
Families get interconnecting rooms in selected categories, plus cots and rollaway beds on request (availability and room type permitting, and a fee may apply). The hotel's own answer to "can I have a quiet room?" is worth knowing: higher floors on the mountain side are generally quieter, and the desk will note the request on the booking.
Want a view of the river but do not need a suite? The Deluxe Harbour rooms and both Water Edge rooms face the water. If the view matters more than the bed, say so in your request — category alone does not choose the floor.
