Weddings and celebrations
The hotel's social-events page names milestone birthdays, engagement parties, reunions, gala dinners and end-of-year parties, and says its spaces suit weddings from intimate to large. The Waterfront Room is the one it specifically recommends for weddings — low, right on the water, with floor-to-ceiling windows. The Derwent Room gives you art deco, a dance floor and the old fireplace. Partial or exclusive use of the on-site restaurants and private bar experiences can be requested — The Point takes up to 120 for exclusive use, the Green Room up to 200 (not Friday or Saturday), the Birdcage up to 100.
Conferences
The hotel describes the process as: send an enquiry with your requirements, receive options and packages, and work with its team through to the day. Its FAQ says a dedicated coordinator is provided and floor plans are available. Many rooms have built-in AV; the Portlight Bar does not. The Tasman Room lists two side screens plus an optional centre screen, LED lighting and a secure speakers' room.
Group accommodation
For 10 rooms or more the hotel asks for group enquiries to [email protected] or 1800 139 760. Corporate features listed include executive rooms, work desks, express check-out, free parking for over 1,200 vehicles, in-room dining and free use of the Health Club. The FAQ mentions special group rates across the Tower, Water Edge and nearby villas. Our desk handles individual and small-group room requests; for a full conference, go to the hotel's events team directly — we would rather say so than take a commission on something we cannot add to.
Coming as a group of 12 or more to dinner? The Point, Longhorn Smokehouse and Boardwalk Bistro each have group terms — set menus apply at Longhorn for tables of 12 or more.
