Plenty of hotels say "accessible rooms available". Wrest Point's room page lists the features one by one, which is what anyone using a wheelchair or travelling with a carer actually needs. We reproduce the list below exactly as the hotel publishes it and suggest confirming the items that matter to you when our desk sends the request.

Room

  • Automatic opening entry doors
  • Under-bed clearance suitable for hoists
  • Electric curtains
  • Wardrobe with an electric height-adjustable hanging rail
  • Adjustable bed height, on request
  • Electric luggage rack

Bathroom

  • Roll-in shower with a removable hand-held showerhead
  • Shower bench seating
  • Roll-under sink
  • Grab rails and a raised toilet seat

Safety and the rest of the property

  • Emergency call buttons and emergency strobe lighting
  • Lift access, accessible parking and what the hotel calls spacious circulation throughout the property
  • Wheelchair access throughout public areas, according to the hotel's general FAQ

The facilities page adds that accessible Tower rooms come with outfitted bathrooms, an oversized telephone, special lighting, additional height and space allowances and widened doorways, and asks guests to say so when booking.

Venues inside the complex differ. The Portlight Bar, for example, is reached by stairs or lift through the Riviera building, with level access from the back entrance near the Water Edge rooms; the Executive Boardroom has a wheelchair-friendly upper-level entrance near the Derwent Room. If you are coming for an event, tell us which room.

Practical points

Parking is free and includes undercover levels. Valet parking is offered for $20 (the facilities page says per night per car). Reception runs 24 hours. Our full notes on getting around the site are on the accessibility page, which also covers how this website itself is built.

Rates quoted as 'from' prices on the hotel's own room pages when we read them on 29 October 2026. They move with dates, events and season, and the hotel says peak rates apply in summer.
