The suite is the Tower's answer to a question we hear a lot: is there anything here that feels like more than a hotel room? On paper, yes. At 60 square metres it is double the 30 m² of the standard deluxe rooms, and the floor is split so the bed is not the only place to sit. The hotel's description puts the lounge against two bays of windows facing the River Derwent and mentions sunrise and sunset; given the Tower's position on the point, both directions of light reach the water.
What you get for the step up
Three things separate the Harbour Suite from a Deluxe Harbour King. First, the lounge, which matters if two people keep different hours. Second, the walk-in dressing area — useful for anyone in Hobart for a wedding, a gala dinner in the Tasman Room or a night at The Point, where the restaurant asks for smart casual. Third, the bathroom: it is described as oversized, with a bath and a separate shower. The hotel's FAQ confirms that only selected Tower suites have baths, so if a soak is the point, this is the category to name.
Who it suits, who it does not
It suits anniversaries, a long weekend with room-service breakfasts (the in-room menu runs from 6:30am), and anyone staying three or four nights who would otherwise feel boxed in. It is overkill for a single night before an early flight, and if you mainly want the view, the Deluxe Harbour King on an upper floor gives you the water for less.
Asking for the right suite
The hotel publishes one Harbour Suite category, not a list of floors. When you send a request, tell our desk what matters: a high floor, a bath, an anniversary amenity. Wrest Point says its team can arrange touches such as sparkling wine, chocolates or flowers if told in advance; we pass that on with the booking request, and the hotel prices it.
